Richard III: Collage Series

My stage design for Richard III employs top table puppet theater and digital collage to deconstruct and reassemble the familiar narrative. Within the confined yet dynamic one-meter square frames, I create a microcosm of the Machiavellian world, where power struggles and moral ambiguities are magnified. Inspired by Jan Kott’s Shakespeare: Our Contemporary, I challenge traditional interpretations of Richard III, revealing a complex anti-hero entangled in a web of political intrigue. The fragmented visual language of digital collage mirrors thefractured psyche of the characters, inviting the audience to questionthe nature of power, morality, and the blurred lines between hero and villain.
